Inland sand, without the salt

Atlantis sits back from the coast, so the sand is the same problem as everywhere on this side of the metro but the salt and the constant wind are not. That means joint sand stays where it is put for much longer, and stabilising the joints is a choice rather than a necessity.
The sand still has to be dealt with the same way: excavate to firm ground, build up with graded stone compacted in layers, and restrain every edge.

Getting plant onto a site
Access decides more of the price here than people expect. If a truck can reverse to the work area, sand and stone come off the back of it. If it cannot, every cubic metre gets barrowed, and that is hours rather than minutes. We check access on the site visit and price it openly rather than absorbing it into the rate.
