The Overberg is coastal and exposed along the Hermanus and Betty’s Bay strip, then turns cold and wet inland toward Grabouw and Villiersdorp. Coastal jobs get the salt-and-wind treatment; inland jobs deal with genuine winter rainfall and frost-prone mornings, where water sitting in a poorly drained base does the damage. Holiday properties here also stand empty for months, so we favour surfaces that tolerate neglect over ones that need seasonal attention.
