Holiday homes that stand empty
Many Overberg properties stand empty for months at a time. Paving Wiz favours surfaces that tolerate neglect: restrained edges, stabilised joints and pavers that do not need seasonal sealing. Weeds in open joints are the most common complaint on a returning owner’s driveway, and tight jointing is the cheapest prevention.
Coast versus inland
Along the Hermanus and Betty’s Bay strip, salt air and wind are the enemy. Inland toward Grabouw the rainfall and frosty mornings do the damage: water sitting in a poorly drained base lifts and loosens pavers. The inland build goes deeper and pays more attention to where water leaves the base.
